Ian Thurwachter is a native Austinite, and the Executive Chef /Co-Owner of Intero and Poeta Restaurants. His original inspiration in the culinary world developed as he learned to cook alongside his dad while watching various PBS cooking shows.
Ian’s drive comes from his enthusiasm for whole animal butchery and utilizing local, regionally available ingredients for a naturally sustainable approach, a concept deeply rooted in Italian cooking which has become his current career focus.
