Amalia Staggs & Adachi Ogbenna

In 2020, Amalia discovered that “volunteer farmhand” was a thing! That simple, profound experience led to an “all things all farm” accelerated focus: volunteer/crew stints at local farms New Leaf Agriculture, Middle Ground Farm, VRDNT Farm, Studebaker Farms; a 5-month intensive crash course education as a Farmer Starter at Farmshare Austin in spring of 2021; staying on as Assistant Farm Manager at Farmshare for fall of 2021; early 2022 Harvest and Pack Manager for a season at Middle Ground Farm; back to her dream job (current job!) as a Farm Manager at Farmshare Austin. Amalia is grateful to all the farmers who have shared their experience, knowledge, and friendship, and for fostering an abiding devotion to regenerative land stewardship and building a more just and equitable local food system.
