Congrats to Sustainable Food Center (SFC) on 50 years in Central Texas!
Urban Roots connects youth with farming and leadership, teaching them about sustainability, food systems, and community. High school students grow food, lead farm tasks, and develop valuable skills in both agriculture and leadership. The farm fosters confidence and empowers youth to become change-makers. Urban Roots also offers volunteer and alumni opportunities to continue supporting food access in the community.

This year’s Field Guide Festival features a taco omakase by Joseph Gomez of Sana Sana Taqueria, in partnership with Hannah Beall of the Central Texas Food Bank Garden. We chatted with Joseph about participating in Field Guide, the evolution of his work, the importance of migrant workers, and storytelling through cuisine.
Returning for the fourth year, Mill Scale Metalworks is once again helping the festival run smoothly for chefs and farmers. Founded by Matt and Caleb Johnson in Lockhart, TX, Mill Scale creates offset smokers and live-fire grills trusted by chefs worldwide.
